In Tamarindo there is a small private domestic airport located approximately 15 minutes from the lovely town of Tamarindo; it offers daily flights to San Jose and other cities within Costa Rica servicing the domestic airlines as well as some private charters providing easy travel access to the area.

Travelling from the Central Valley to the North Pacific is almost a surreal experience.  The steep and winding roads gradually become flatter and straighter, the lush humid plant life becomes sparse and drier, and the mountains are replaced by the seemingly infinite flatlands of Guanacaste.

Wet or Green Season

May to November – Occasional heavy rains of short duration in the afternoon
– Trees turn into bloom
– Dry-forests turn green and lush
– Less visitors
