Florida Real Estate, a division of the Costa Rican company Florida Ice and Farm Co. (Fifco) plans to build 7 hotels with 855 rooms in a maximum extension of 34.7 hectares and a building area of 20.8 ha., as part of an ambitious tourism project in Nacascolo, Liberia in the province of Guanacaste.
The plan considers keeping 165.3 acres as a private reserve as well as the development of 12 residential areas, a community center, four beach clubs, equestrian center, a golf course, and lakes.
Other investments in the Papagayo Gulf Resort Polo contemplate a new property, a hotel YU by Wyndham, with 151 rooms in Panama Beach. This project belongs to the broker Condo Hotel Loma Linda, S. A. and would open during 2015.
Opening in October 2014, there is the all-inclusive Melia Paradisus Papagayo Bay, a resort of 383 luxury rooms, by SunVesta with an investment of $175 million. It will have a convention center and seven restaurants.
The development of megaprojects continues in other areas of Guanacaste, as in La Cruz where the five-star hotel Dreams Las Mareas, with 447 rooms, 49,000 square feet and an investment of $125 million, will open in November 2014.
