Location

Costa Rica borders to the North with Nicaragua, to the South with Panama, and to the East and West with the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean respectively. The Caribbean coastline is 255 kms long, while the Pacific coast is 1.103 Km. long. Both coasts are abundant on first class beaches and exuberant vegetation.

Climate

Costa Rica enjoys a spring-like weather all year round. The average temperature in the Central Valley is 72° F (22° C). The temperature near the coast and on the beaches ranges from 70° to 90° F (21° to 32° C).

Costa Rica is a tropical destination. We enjoy a spectacular weather from the end of November through the end of May.  The rest of the year is extraodrinary as well, because the tropical afternoon showers transform the country into a large deep green paradise.

Due to the abundance of microclimates, there are more than 12 ecosystems according to the scale of Holdridge. The abundance of microclimates has produced one of the richest fauna and flora found in the planet. The greenery and climate make Costa Rica an everlasting spring country.

Water and Food

Tap water is safe to drink in most of the country, but bottled beverages are recommended in rural areas. The country's typical food includes seafood, meats, vegetables, tropical fruits, and dishes prepared with corn. International cuisine is also available countrywide. Cuisines available include Japanese, Arabian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, and many others.
